OVERVIEW:
The Amish live in Eastern America, and will be mostly found in Pennsylvania. They follow a main rule system called Ordung, which varies from settlement to settlement but are mainly the same.
1. They have an unwritten code of conduct called Ordung, that stresses the importance of humility, obedience, and simplicity, it is also their rules to follow.
2. Humility is the hallmark of Amish beliefs
3. Amish clothing provides the plain people with an instant means of separation from the world.
4. Amish are comforted by their belief in heaven and life after death
5. Buggies are a dark gray color so they can blend into their surroundings rather than stand out.
6. Mennonite churches share the same beliefs concerning baptism, non-resistance, and basic bible doctrines.
7. Their purpose of life is to live plain and simple .
8. Do's Dont's ~ When driving, keep an eye out ~ Don't stare or gawk
for slow-moving Amish buggies ~ No photos or videos
and give them plenty of room ~ Do not feed or pet horses that when following or passing are tied to a hitching rail or
harnessed to a buggy.
